Mon Club International joined efforts with international and community-based organizations to commemorate the 2023 World Environment Day, themed “Beat Plastic Pollution.” Observed annually on June 5, the event raises awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and taking action against climate change. It provided an opportunity to engage communities directly on the impact of environmental degradation and promote positive change through collective action. Mon Club collaborated with Rise to Inspire Africa (RIA) Initiative, The Big Smile Foundation, UmminRashida Care Foundation, and DaFabians Global Relief Initiative to bring this message to life through community sensitization and advocacy. A total of seventy trees were planted—sixty-five in Muna Community, Jere Local Government Area, and five at Goni Kachallari Demonstration School. In addition, the management of Government Girls College, Maiduguri, welcomed the team and embraced the environmental awareness campaign with enthusiasm and commitment.
