Mon Club International supported the Protection Sector in Damaturu, Yobe State, in organizing the “Walk for Dignity,” a 500-person, 4-kilometer walk to the State House of Assembly. The event brought together humanitarian workers, top government officials, and members of civil society to advocate for stronger legal protections for women and children. The peaceful walk successfully drew the attention of lawmakers to the growing concerns around sexual and gender-based violence in the state. Following the advocacy, new laws were enacted, introducing stricter penalties for perpetrators of such crimes, marking a significant step toward safeguarding the dignity and rights of women and children in Yobe State.
