Mon Club International conducted an assessment of returnees from Monguno and Maiduguri to Baga Ward in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State. The findings showed that their living conditions had worsened significantly, leaving thousands of households in greater hardship than when they were in the IDP camps. The needs identified were urgent and cut across several areas, including nutrition, protection, and food security. Due to access challenges, very few aid organizations were present in Baga. Guided by its principle of humanity, Mon Club worked with local residents and security forces to overcome these barriers. Through continuous community engagement and strong civil-military collaboration, the team carried out a rapid needs assessment and shared the report with humanitarian partners. To help ease the suffering of the affected population, Mon Club supported 150 of the most vulnerable households across Kanumburi, Lawanti, Budumari, and Popon Gajaja communities. Each household received survival kits that provided relief during the cold season. The initiative was titled Project 1050, as it was designed to reach 1,050 individuals in total.
