On the 5th of August 2021, Mon Club International carried out an assessment in Rann, Kala Balge LGA of Borno State, to understand the state of child education in the community. Rann, a border town, had long been one of the most volatile areas in the BAY states. Years of insecurity and repeated attacks had left most of its physical and social structures damaged or destroyed, with schools among the worst affected. The assessment revealed the urgent need to support children whose education had been disrupted by conflict and displacement. In response, Mon Club International launched “Support a Child in Rann (Project 1000-X)”, an initiative to provide 1,000 school uniforms to children in the area. Each uniform costs ₦2,000, and MCI encouraged individuals and partners to support by sponsoring one or more children. The project sought to restore children’s confidence in returning to school, promote school attendance, and build hope for learning in a community where education had nearly come to a halt.
